Why Summer Camp?
It can be difficult to explain if you haven't experienced it yourself. A great summer day camp is not simply participating in activities--although activities can be fun. What makes a great summer day camp is the people in place combined with a well-thought-out plan for how to build each day and week throughout the summer. Great summer camps are steeped in traditions while looking for new ways to create the best summer ever. The relationships that are formed, nourished, and grown at summer camp are like none other.
Why Summer Camp at Camp Moon River?
Camp Moon River is special because we are camp people. Our goal is to get to know your child for who they are mentally, physically, and emotionally. We will seek to identify and nourish your child's spark, that which makes your child their best self. The camp will become your child's second home.
Is CMR All Fun & Tie Dye?
The answer is Yes…and also—CMR will strive for the following outcomes for every camper and staff member to:
Relate (In Real Life)
Develop the ability to connect person-to-person particularly while disconnecting from computers, phones, and social media.
Enhance the skills of “getting along” and being a good friend as well as learning to advocate for yourself and for others.

Manage one’s own choices, accept accountability, and embrace mistakes and failure as important to growth.

Learn about and develop personal skills and spark (that which makes a person their best self).

Actively keep an open mind about engaging in activities, conversations, and experiences for the purpose of expanding comfort zones, trying new things, and stretching oneself for personal growth.
Sessions, Hours & Rates
Camp Moon River Tuition Includes a full-day 8:30-4:30 Summer Camp Day, LUNCH, 2 CMR Official t-shirts -required to wear each day of camp - additional camp shirts available for $12.00 (tax included), and tons of FUN!
CMR 2025 K-8th grades - 7 Weeks:
There are 7 Weeks of CMR and 6 Sessions due to the 2-week session starting June 16th
Times: Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Lunch is included! To make your summer mornings easier, campers will have their lunch included in their tuition. All meals are prepared by SAGE Dining Service.
What we eat affects everything: our mood, behavior, health, and growth. Good nutrition is a key component of our food program and is what keeps our campers fueled for a full day at camp!
Weekly Menus will be available in June and will be updated by session.
Please note: CMR is NUT-FREE, and all campers should not bring in any food containing nuts.
Multi-Session Discount for K-8th Grade Summer Sessions
It must be purchased at the same time for the same camper.
Extended Care: This can be selected during the registration process for applicable camps.
Morning Wait: $65/week: 7:30 AM-8:30 AM
After Care: $65/week: 4:30 PM-5:30 PM - Fridays will close at 5:00 pm
Both- Morning Wait and Aftercare: $100/week
Drop-ins for Aftercare and Morning Wait are accepted the day before and are based on daily enrollment availability. Please contact us in advance to secure your spot.
Session 1: Back to Camp Superheroes
Dates: 6/2/25 - 6/6/25
Cost: $360
Campers are put into "bunks" according to grade and enrollment.
Unleash your inner hero during Back to Camp Superheroes, a thrilling week where campers become the stars of their superhero adventure! This action-packed camp is perfect for young heroes ready to save the day with creativity, teamwork, and bravery.
Highlights of the Week:
Superhero Training Academy: Develop superhero skills like agility, problem-solving, and teamwork through fun obstacle courses, team challenges, and creative activities.
Create Your Hero Identity: Design your own superhero costume, complete with a mask, cape, and emblem, and craft a unique backstory for your character.
Epic Missions: Work together to solve mysteries, defeat villains, and protect "Camp City" in engaging role-playing adventures.
Super Science Experiments: Explore the science behind superpowers like magnetism, flight, and invisibility with hands-on experiments and demonstrations.
Superhero Carnival Celebration: This event is the ultimate adventure for kids who dream of saving the day. Join us for face painting, a superhero costume contest, and crafts where kids can create their own masks and capes. The day will feature exciting team activities like "Villain Capture" and a hero-worthy scavenger hunt.
To top it all off, there will be delicious snacks, music, and a photo booth to capture every heroic moment. Whether your camper loves Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, or creating their own unique hero, this is a celebration they won’t want to miss!

Session 2: Endless Expedition
Dates: 6/9/25- 6/13/25
Cost: $390
Campers are put into "bunks" according to grade and enrollment. This week includes a Field Trip to the Tybee Island Marine Center
Embark on a week of adventure and discovery with Endless Expedition, where curiosity leads the way! This exciting summer camp is designed for young explorers passionate about animals, nature, and the great outdoors.
Highlights of the Week:
Animal Encounters: Meet fascinating creatures up close and learn about their habitats, behaviors, and roles in our ecosystem.
Outdoor Adventures: Immerse yourself in hands-on activities, nature hikes, and team-building challenges designed to spark curiosity and foster a love for the environment.
Field Trip to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center: Spend an unforgettable day exploring this incredible facility, where campers will interact with experts, observe exotic wildlife, and participate in fun educational activities.

Session 3: Moon River Madness

We are thrilled to continue the beloved tradition of our two-week Moon River Madness Session! This extended camp experience offers campers even more time to forge friendships, build team spirit, and dive deeper into all the exciting activities that make Camp Moon River unforgettable.
Over the first week, campers will enjoy classic camp favorites while forming strong bonds within their bunks and teams. The second week kicks off with Moon River Madness, our legendary all-camp competition filled with twists, turns, and surprises at every corner. With two weeks of adventure, laughter, and camaraderie, the fun never stops!
What to Expect:
Classic Camp Favorites: Sports and games, arts & crafts, drama, tie-dye, waterslides, campfires, dance parties, and so much more!
Team Challenges: Participate in epic activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendly competition.
Moon River Madness: Experience a full week of exciting competitions, secret missions, and camp-wide games, where every camper’s energy and enthusiasm contribute to their team’s success.

Session 4: Candyland Summer Camp: A Sweet Adventure Awaits!

Welcome to Candyland Camp, where every day is a sugar-coated adventure! This week-long camp is a dream come true for young sweet tooths and creative minds alike. Step into a colorful world inspired by the classic game and embark on a journey filled with imagination, fun, and a dash of sweetness.
Highlights of the Week:
Candy Crafting: Design and create your own candy-inspired art projects, from candy necklaces to colorful sculptures.
Sweet Science: Dive into hands-on experiments like making edible slime, candy crystals, and fizzy soda volcanoes.
Life-Size Candyland Game: Participate in an interactive version of the Candyland game, where campers become the game pieces on a life-sized board.

Session 5: Hogwarts Summer Camp: A Magical Week of Wizardry
Dates: 7/14/25 - 7/18/25
Cost: $360
Calling all young witches and wizards! Step into the enchanting world of Hogwarts Summer Camp, where magic, adventure, and creativity await. Whether you're a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, this week-long camp is the perfect destination for fans of all things magical!
Highlights of the Week:
House Sorting Ceremony: Begin your journey with the Sorting Hat as it assigns you to one of the four Hogwarts Houses.
Potions Class: Mix magical ingredients to create bubbling, colorful, and safe "potions" in our interactive science sessions.
Wand Crafting: Design and personalize your own wand, learning about the lore and choosing the wood and core that match your magical personality.
Quidditch Practice: Take to the "sky" in an adapted version of Quidditch, where teamwork and strategy are key to scoring the Golden Snitch!
Care of Magical Creatures: Explore the world of mythical beasts and fantastic animals through hands-on encounters and creative crafts.
Wizarding World Challenges: Solve riddles, complete scavenger hunts, and work together with your Housemates to earn points for the House Cup.
End the week with a Hogwarts Feast and Awards Ceremony, where the House Cup winner is revealed, and magical memories are celebrated.

Session 6: Winter Wonderland

This week, we may add a field trip to the schedule. If that happens, we will inform parents of any associated charges at a later time.
Escape the summer heat and step into a magical winter adventure at our Winter Wonderland Summer Camp! This one-week camp is packed with frosty fun and snowy surprises designed to spark your child’s imagination and creativity.
Activities Include:
❄️ Snow Science Experiments – Learn the magic behind snowflakes, make your own "snow," and discover the science of cold weather!
⛸️ Winter Olympics – Compete in fun, icy-themed games like penguin races, snowball tosses, and curling challenges (minus the ice!).
🎨 Arctic Arts & Crafts – Create frosty masterpieces, from snow globe jars to glittery snowflakes and winter-themed decorations.
🎵 Winter Karaoke & Dance Party – Chill out with your favorite holiday tunes and enjoy a snowy dance floor.
🍫 Cozy Treats – Enjoy hot cocoa and decorate delicious winter-themed cookies in our camp café.
🐻 Polar Explorers – Learn about arctic animals through hands-on activities, including building a mini-igloo and creating your own arctic habitat.
Campers will also enjoy daily themed dress-up days, like "Pajama Polar Express Day" and "Frosty Fun Hat Day," making every moment magical.
